Winter Workshop Series Part II: Small High Tunnel Construction Workshop for Vegetables


January 18th 1-4pm

$30 Farmers and Growers
$10 students

FOR: Farmers of all scales, skill levels, and experiences interested in increasing production capactiy and sales. Backyard gardeners and students welcome.

This hands on workshop at Bahr Farm, led by Our Harest Co-op farm managers, provides the opportunity to construct a 100 foot long, 12 foot wide, and 7 foot high tunnel.
Discussion and questions will focus on why this tunnel design; its benefits, and what the day’s building process entails. You will leave the workshop with a copy of the tunnel’s instructions and the list of materials and supplies used and sources purchased from.

PURPOSE: Take a look and put a hand to putting up a high tunnel, if you are thinking about using them on your farm. Get your questions answered and see for yourself how Our Harvest Cooperative is expanding thie vegetable production adn lengthening their growing and selling season.

Stephen Dienger: Assistant Farm Manager for Oour Harvest Co-op. He has been growing sustainbaly for over 7 years. He has repaired and built hoop houses at several farms for successful season extension.

Steve Edwards: has been involved with several kinds of farming methods, inlcuding the Amish, and recycling centers for 50 years. He is looking forward to sharing some of the skills he has been taught.
